It's easy to tune arrows. Lots of people spend a lot of time doing it. You just follow the recipes. It doesn't do a great deal.
It's not easy to match arrows (find the right arrows for your setup). Automated programs oversimplify the process. Charts can be misleading or confusing. People misinterpret the information provided. People seldom actually know the correct information about their basic setup (draw weight etc). Matching is a "black art".
If the shafts used with the old limbs were mismatched, while the ones used with the new ones weren't, that would make a difference.
