3/16 unc and 10-24 unc are two ways of describing the same thing.
All the unc threads under ¼” are normally described as number- number (of threads per inch), 1/4” and over are thread diameter (i.e. 3/8”) unc. So both the answers you got are correct it’s just the way the screw threads are described on each side of the pond.
