errr, off the top of my head;
  • American Flat Bow is not longbow, and can't be used in the same competitions as the bow's characteristics are different (I would say AFB's are easier to shoot, but thats my experience)
  • AFB's come in a range of different qualities, like longbows, and if your serious about shooting them you should research the different manufacturers (IMO Border make the best available from experience)
  • AFB's are faster than longbows and often require a stiffer spined arrow that the equivalent weighted longbow.
  • Bamboo makes the fastest bow avaialbe - to such a degree that even light poundages will reach 100yds with little effort.
  • AFB's are often not ambidextrous because of the ledge cut out.
  • Price's for flat bows range from £100 to £500+, but you get what you pay for.
