I would start using the clicker as soon as possible. It's a fundamental part of the shot process. Developing a 'clickerless' technique just means having to start again developing a clicker technique. Many archers don't use the clicker for a long time and they end up still not using the clicker years later even if they are nominally putting the arrow under the clicker and pretendignto use it.
