| i use a cartel 2000 and its a great sight to be honest, get a beiter 8mm sight tunnel in 8/32 thread for about £10 and its a really good sight.
Regarding the string picture i always line it up just outside the sight tunnel, bring it to the same place each time and its fine. Something that may help you is if you find an ideal place on the screwthread to line up the string, put a mark like a thin line of red paint or similar on it.
i dont think there are any rules prohibiting marks like that are there?
