Regarding the string picture i always line it up just outside the sight tunnel, bring it to the same place each time and its fine. Something that may help you is if you find an ideal place on the screwthread to line up the string, put a mark like a thin line of red paint or similar on it.

Not sure, I'd check if I were you- I seem to recall something about not allowed markings that can be used as a second reference, but I may be wrong, I'm vague on this.... I know I've hear about serving length if too long could be deemed at extra sight mark (not sure how)..... Maybe a chat with a judge would give you a definiitive answer?
