22-24cm = 8 3/4-9 1/2 so yes the bracing height does sound a bit high. but on the other hand the bow should be a lot slower and more forgiving. it depends on how you feel with it at the moment. i used to have too many twists in the string and my brace height was bigger than the book said but i liked to shoot it that way. i changed it to get a better cast and now its more reliable at disance. the best advice i could give you is try it the other way (9 1'2) and see what you think but bear in mind your nocking point will change.
