| Maybe not a "target face"/backing (so the code doesn't matter), but have you considered a small plastic "tilt" attached to the top of the target boss to shield the target face from the worst of the weather?
It does seem to work. We used to cover our targets with plastic sheet, which meant covering/uncovering. By putting a "little roof over their heads" (I think it was an Indy-idea, but not totally sure about that) we can turn up and shoot the permanent course with no problems.
