| This is an interesting question. I looked at the Easton arrow selection charts in the latest Quicks catalogue and found an apparent discrepancy. The main chart shows that the arrow shaft group to use would be T1 (and almost into T2). T1 includes 75 shaft with specification 1616 - excatly as you describe.
However, the chart on the previous page suggests group Y6 and this one has 75 shafts of 1516! The inference here is that 1616's might be a bit stiff.
Your question said that your draw was 'about' 26". If it's any shorter, this may mean that your arrows are a bit too stiff.
Finally, what weight piles are you using? Light piles would make an arrow behave as if it were stiffer.
When I shot recurve I always preferred an arrow that was a bit on the stiff side, as I found it grouped a bit better! With longbow I was told that spine doesn't matter as long as you've got enough of it!
