A closed system *unlike* a recurve with one string? That makes no sense.
I'm no compound expert, but I've seen enough articles here and there about tweaking tiller and timing to know it does have an effect. Also, as a very experienced archery engineer told me, the tiller, nocking point, bow grip pressure point, finger pressure (if applicable) and stabiliser set up all affect one another. Change one, and you may find you have to change another to balance it all out again.
