I shoot recurve, but I had this burning desire to try compound. Two or three years ago I bought a compound and used it with a release aid. I was still shooting recurve, so I was shooting which ever bow I felt like shooting at the time. All went well for a few months, till one day while shooting the compound, I released the release aid, quite literally let go of it. It didn’t break my wrist, but it did swell up like a balloon for several days.
