Some very interesting stuff, especialy the Biomechanics. Interesting his recommendation on weight distribution. Carlson et al in1984 looked at load distribution under the foot and its relationship to the position of the centre of mass relative to the base of support. They suggested that the ideal stable position was a little further back than suggest in the link. Wernick in 1996 looked at what he described as "planal dominance in postural stability, he advised that the dominant plane of motion of a joint or series of joint should not be orthogonal to the direction of applied load... seems like the link supports that arguement with their recommendation on an open stance.
