We have a junior doing a beginners course who wants it for his Duke of Edinburgh Award. I don't have a lot to do with the beginners, but from what I understand, it needs to be over a certain number of hours, which our course wouldn't cover. So we told him that he could join after the course and we would continue to clock his hours while shooting our club's beginner rounds, etc. However, I do know that he didn't show up during the course on at least one occasion.
