sighting issues

Hi I'm having problems shooting/aiming
I have to close my left eye as I cant shoot with both eyes open due to being slightly double sighted. I find it difficult keeping my eye shut and wonder if anyone has the same problem? I have thought about wearing an eye patch and wonder if anyone out there wears one for the same reason?
