I've used store bought strings until about a year ago when I decided to make my own string. The first one was a disaster (I think there were some twists under the center serving, so all the arrows would fly waaaay left), but the second one I made has served me well for a year.

I personally use an 18 strand Angel Majesty string with Majesty serving on both the end loops and the center. It gives a very smooth shot, no creep and is surprisingly quiet. However, I've been thinking about making some more, but hearing about Stu I may just have to contact him and get some made by him (it took me about 3 hours to make each of my current strings).
