Peter Ford of Transplant Sport UK has asked me to post this on his behalf:

"The British Transplant Games take place every year. As you have seen, it took place in Edinburgh over the last few days. The games are for people who have had life preserving organ transplants - heart, heart/lung,kidney, liver, bone marrow, bowel etc. There are many athletes who enjoy taking part in the archery event, and come for training prior to taking part in the competition. There have been quite a number in the past who have taken a liking to it and joined a local archery club, bought their own equipment etc. We also have some very able archers in wheelchairs who have taken part in national competitions for the disabled.

The competition results will be loaded onto the Transplant Sport UK website over the next few days as soon as they have been put in a format that I can load. I am not sure of the scoring that I will be able to include.

Next years event is taking place in Sheffield, and the following year in Coventry. Archery has become a standard event for us over the last few years, and indeed is becoming more popular.

Thanks you for your interest, and if any of your members would like to help out with our event next year, we would be delighted to welcome you along.

regards

Peter Ford
