What rest is he using? and what type of fletching?
You can try rotating his nocks to nearly the "Y" configuration (I've known that to fix upper fletch clearence issues)
If its an adjustable rest try lowering the height of the arm.
Ummmm... I'll have a think - gibbon had a similar problem (upper vane clearance issues) last year so I'll try and catch him and ask what else we did.
Also are things like brace height and tiller right?
