I'm told (by someone with plenty of knowledge of the subject...) that Ben Pearson braced one of his first production glass-backed recurve bows & hung it over his workshop door to see how it would be affected by being left strung for long periods of time. It was tested once every 4 months for 38 YEARS with no discernable changes to draw-weight or cast! Bear in mind the leaps we've had in glue/glass/laminating technology since he built this bow in 1952......
I personally leave mine strung permanently, unless I'm packing 'em up to put on a plane!
