1. What draw weights should I be looking at? I am not very physically strong, so I suppose 40# would be about right?
2. Should the bow be long or shorter? I was thinking, the longer, the better - maybe above 64''? Or am I mistaken here?
3. I know all about benefits of steel risers, but I'd like to get a wood-risered bow and shoot wooden arrows off the shelf. This is just a quirk of mine.
4. I'd like a bow that is easy to tune and forgiving
5. Do you have any brands that you can recommend? Any other suggestions? I am planning to use the winter months to do some research and come up with something for the next season...
The whole subject of target/field archery is completely new to me, so I thought I'd go to the forum to ask some experts here for advice.
Thx | HHHmmm I think you have just opened a BIG can of worms here How target orientated are you planning to go (sights, stabs, ect.) if thats the way your thinking your going to be spoiled for choice but personaly Id say take a good long look at Hoyt , If your planning shooting bare bow the name that springs instantly to mind is Border I have seen some awsome looking all wood recurves made by them , I think "Macbow" would be a good person to ask about Border bows I seem to recall he owns several of them (custom made I belive) P.S. just reread your post and yes 40 lbs should be fine and my matrix is 68" so I think you are on the right lines thinking longer than 64"
