Raedwald there is probably no specific answer. Use whatever brace height works best which for me usually means starting from the lowest recommended setting and working up slowly until the bow sounds quietest (often someone else standing nearby can judge the sound better) and it shoots the smoothest, which is all quite subjective. It is easy to tell when it is totally wrong as the bow is harsh and noisy. I had a 35# Viper for a while so i could work on form although I was always trying to get the maximum performance from it. My Border Griffon is 6 5/8" and by Blackbrook Zeta is 7 5/8" so I'd probably have started at 7" and worked up.
