Once again, thanks for all the useful advice. Looks like I will be OK shooting my Navigator 430's at all distances initially, with only moderate risk of damage. This is useful, because my launcher (Golden Key) has the 'Vee' blade with the little bent up hornes on the end - a little wider by the looks of it to the one Marcus uses, but OK for the Navigator. I have a few X10's (rescued from eBay) which look as though they might need a narrower launcher.

I was a little disappointed with the accessory set that came with the GK launcher. The 'Golden Arm' for carbons was a very poor fit in the bug clunky twin prong shaft, and there was no other mounting shaft supplied, other than the one for the Vee blade. Fortunately, being an engineer, I am machining up another which will fit better - I will probably make a spoon for it as well in due course. Currently no-one seems to have any stock of the carbon arm for the GK launcher.

Here is a question if anyone knows the answer - with a spring back launcher, what position is the launcher in as the fletchings pass over? Is it still depressed part way (like a drop away), or is it sitting back up close to the shaft? The answer to this would help determine how narrow the launcher blade would need to be in relation to the shaft diameter and the fletchings.
