| Outdoors we use a combination of straw and layered foam. Straw for the recureve archers and when they become shot out, they are good for the longbow folk. The hard straw bosses are not popular when new; arrow pulling, even from moderate weight recurves is such hard work that nobody wants to use them. We have layered foam for the compound archers. They are heavy and take up much more storage space, but you can pull arrows out easily enough and members who have Protours have suffered no damage with them.
Indoors we use Danage and layered foam.
IMHO boss technology has not kept pace with other developments in archery.
