General Dogs, a normal set up(if there is such a thing) will have the arrow point just right of the centre line/string line of your bow for a left hander, yes?
The sight, normally, would be more or less directly above the arrow, yes?
The string line, when at full draw, would be just to one side (left) of the sight ring.
What you describe has the sight setting, closer to the sight window than the "normal".That usually means soft arrows, as BE says.
I mean no disrespect to your coach, but is it possible he set up centre shot, forgetting that you shoot left handed? It can happen. I've had arrows brought to me with marks on the upper fletching. Coach was puzzled, as it's usually the lower one gets marked from contact with the rest. The archer was left handed;the upper fletch was in fact the lower one!! It's worth a visual check, and costs nothing.
