- I don't holiday in ancient Rome, so I never saw the point. "Dos cervezas, por favor" is about the extent of my linguistic talent!
I think the use of the phrase is a slightly tongue-in-cheek play on the original quote which I believe is attributed to Virgil. He was criticising man's greed so perhaps it was something to do with his tone of voice that got lost in translation!
