Club gets funding for new bosses

This is from the South Yorkshire Times. It just shows, there's funding out there if you ask nicely:

CLUB ON TARGET

AN ARCHERY club based in Adwick-on-Dearne have hit the bull's eye after securing vital funding to replace damaged equipment.
The Dearne Valley Archery Club - which is closing in on its 50th year - received £2,153 from Key Fund Global Grants to replace straw targets which were destroyed by floods last year.
"The targets cost about £90 a piece, so we applied for funding and were fortunate enough to receive some," said development officer John Seddon.
The money will also go towards securing the club's short term future and allow John and his colleagues to continue coaching members of the club, which is currently oversubscribed.
"The turnover is quite high," John said. "For every 10 members, if we keep one for five years we have done well.
"A lot of people come wanting to play cowboys and Indians and realise it's not for them when they find out how serious the sport is and how much time and dedication you need.
"But we do have committed members and we have won a number of international and national awards, including gold in the European championships.
John was presented the award on behalf of the club by Dearne North councillor Janice Hancock last month and explained his passion for the sport.
He added: "It's not a spectator sport and it does not get the publicity.
"If you come and watch, unless you have a member of your family or a friend taking part, it can be quite boring, but it is a sport that can get in your blood and it is a big part of my life."
* The club is currently oversubscribed and cannot accommodate new members at the present time.
