(context - i have a soma saker and also a joomong)

if youre pulling on the pinky hook then youre using it wrong IMHO - i find the pinky hook useful for reminding me to tuck the little finger away and reach for my neck with it - if you found yourself pulling on the hook then you could always reverse it and tuck your pinky behind it

i think the soma tabs are a bit marmite - you either get on with them really well or you cant stand them - personally i like them as i find the finger spacer the most comfortable of any tab ive tried and the 'tail' at the back of the saker / joomong sits the tab consistently in my string hand by seating into the base of my thumb
