| The weather has never stopped me, only when the shoot has been abandoned on safety grounds like Penicuik last year.
At one comp last year, I was shooting with a MB archer, who was chasing scores. After 90m he decided that there was no point carrying on as he would struggle to reach the mental score he had set himself.I commented that I have never yet (in 18 years) stopped shooting a competition, and he replying that until last year neither had he.........but once he started, he found that he was more likely to drop out.A case of once you've made the decision, its too easy to drop out again. When it matters, at a championship, you don't get the option. So mentally, you are not prepared if at the first sign of bad weather, you decide to pack up, or not even turn out. |
