Hey Guys

Ok, I know that I'm probably going to sound kinda crazy for this, but there have been a few historically recorded people that have been known to have been known as or referred to as "Robin Hood", if you wish to take the time to do some research, it may be interesting, then again it may not be, it'sdown to the individual

Anywaysd, I imagine in those days, that longbows would've been carved from fallen tree branches, and the string having been made of a resonable number of linen strands that were plaited in the similar fashion to how modern bow strings are made, but I imagine that the entire string would'be been completely wound, rather than just the serving portion.

As reguards fletching the arrows, I imagine that a good number of archers in battle, would've known and/or been taught how to fletch arrows and/or having a fletcher complete the arrows for a specific group of soldiers.

I would think though, that the width of the fletching for the heavier warbow arrows, may not have been as wide as medieval replica arrows made nowadays, because the slightly narrower fletch, would allow the arrow to have that little bit less wind resistence, therefore being able to travel that little bit further and this is something that I feel that medieval archers would've known about, especially since they would need to be able to allow for the wind when shooting outdoors.

In saying this, this is only how I would imagine it would've been like in those times and so, perhaps someone more knowledgeable of medieval archery, would be able to ellaborate in some way or another

Willie
