The SF sight has been very reliable. I changed the sight pin for an adjustable iris but I've been very happy with the sight. It has a good range of adjustment, it is easy to set up, and above all is reasonably priced. My wife used to use an Arten sight but she too has got a SF the same as mine now.
As far as repacking the boss, two hands are better than one, take your time taking the boss apart, then spread the “shot out” part to the outside and the good parts to the centre. Try to keep the foam in line and bind up tight again. Took me about 45 mins
