I was told that in Medieval times goose feathers were used as the turkeys were still in America and that there are only two feathers on goose long enough to make an 8" feather (as on the BLBS standard war arrow today) that's a lot of geese required for a campaign
I have asked the question why 8" and the only reply so far is that it looks good
