| spring blade rests
I have tried most types of rest.Fixed and drop away. I have never used a spring blade rest. Of the rests I have tried they all have one thing in common; the springiness is limited to downwards. In other words, the rest can spring down below the initail setting, spring back to initial height, but it cannot bend back higher than that.The spring blade type, however, can, if depressed, spring back and end up higher than the initial set up.As the blade is the only moving part, I guess the speed of return will be quicker too.
Could this be the reason that gets the improved results for some? |
