I've seen a method which can make a small adjustment to nock fit.
When you start the centre serving, keep the loose end of the serving very long before starting to wind over the end to lock it in. Before you get to a point where you would trim the end, try a nock on the serving. If it is too tight trim the end and continue the serving, if it is a good fit don't trim the end and keep the loose end under the serving for the entire length.
I haven't had to use it myself only seen a demo of this method, so I hope it makes sense.
