From the little experience I have had of coaches....

I have had a lot of assistance from the regular coach at my club. He is a very approachable person & easy to talk to. One of his ideals is to educate the archer in good practice, ie. how something should be done & how it should feel. This way you are better equiped to identify a problem & fix it yourself. I feel that I have a good relationship with him & always listen to his advice & do my best to implement it. It has taken a while, but I think his input is finally starting to really sink in.

Is this what consitutes a "Good coach"??? In my mind Yes....he is constantly imparting knowledge which allows me to progress.

I have also had some limited coaching input from Meddler - again very clear, concise & very helpfull. Has always given a good reason why something should be done in a particular way....
