Ah, see where you're wrong there is you want some identifiable outcome in the event that it doesn't work where you can point to someone else. If you go with the Open University (which probably fits the first three points you mentioned) it'll be easily identifiable through testing as you go along whether it's sinking in and whether you need to work on a particular point with someone - think of it as banding together with some mates and paying for a coach, you'll all get something out of it by listening to what everyone else has issues with, you get the one-on-one time you want, and it's cheaper than going out on a limb on your own.
