I have coached a number of recurvers to World Championships and have spent time learning recurve coaching under Ki Sik Lee.
One of my students spent 3 months without a bow to start archery and on picking it up started shooting 260-270 for 30 arrow FITA indoor rounds, with a clicker. She then won the state championships a few months later. It works.
Without a clicker all you do is remove the one thing that will actually give them an idea on how things are suppose to work.
