| Speaking as one who has just broken that particular barrier, the way I aimed for it was by scrapping the exact splits (the same ones Marcus mentions), and aiming for slightly higher ones.
The principle is a combination of aiming for splits and looking for a different 'arbitary number' as a couiple of others have suggested.
What I aimed for was 275,305,305,335. When I acheived it I beat 3 of those targets and dropped down to 293 (with a miss!) at 50m. That way there was no pressure on myself to acheive every distance score, when I got that score at 50 I knew I already had points 'in the bank' and was still relaxed at 30.
That said I couldn't get close the week after at Lilleshall but thats a different story!
