Interesting info guys, I found another cause a few months back with a pair of Winex. These limbs would refuse to come out of the riser (a PSE X-Factor) on minimum poundage, which eventually turned out to be due to the pin in the detent system. This pair had a very long (1mm more than previous limbs - W&W Sidewinder) pin and very stiff springs, which prevented the limb from unclipping properly. The pins and springs were replaced with those out of the previous limbs and we no longer had a problem.

It is possible that the very loose limbs could be due to the opposite - short pin and soft spring.
