| I think the GNAS fees offer very good value when compared to other Leisure activities and if £10 a year more was what was deemed reasonable to improve the service and develop archery then I cant see how anyone can complain at paying less per week than a pint of beer, Big Mac Meal or 10 cigs.
I was a little concerned to hear that there is no money available for recurve archers selected for the Commonwealth Games in 2010 and they are having to look for sponsorship. Perhaps this is where an increase in subs could be put to good use. The compound squad have the ring fenced grant but don't have to worry about the Olympics. So if it is true about the recurve archers not having any money for the CG 2010 I think this is something that needs to be looked at as a priority. I appreciate they get funding for Olympic training and this will have a direct benefit on the CG, however this does not pay for the logistical operation of sending the team and all that involves. Perhaps I am wrong about this funding and someone with more knowledge will be able to clarify what is going on.
