I have one of those "ordinary" serving jigs. The one with 3 holes in it that your supposed to thread the thread through. I find it impossible to get satisfactory consistant tension using the 3 holes, so now I just go direct from the spool straight through the little hole and on to the string.

I would be interested in people's methods for threading through that tiny hole though. Its too small to just thread the thread through like threading a needle. Currently I take half a strand of bowstring material (waxed dacron will do). Double it and push it backwards through the tiny hole. I can then open up the dacron to give an "eye" through which I can pass the serving thread. Pulling the dacron back through the hole threads the serving thread through the tiny hole. But its hell of a faff! There has to be a better way! Suggestions anyone?
Yes, put a flame to the end wet your fingers and roll real fast...
