It is extremely well made as are most things made by Merlin (mind you I admit to being a bit of a fan).

Re "anti-backlash variety (ground)" I am not sure I have come across that termonolgy before. what I can say is there is no hysterisis, a sight mark can be approached from either direction and its the same. Once a position is set there is no play whatsover and the sight holds true to setting throughout the shoot. Also like most sights along the Sure Loc type of design I think the brass button provides spring loading pressure against the thread. To make major movements this is depressed which dissengages the thread and then the sight pin carrier can be slid up and down.
