The ML2 Was the first main step away from the Hoyt style recurve shape. This is the limb that made this step.
If you get the chance, we would like to see your thoughts on the limb shape compaired to the Winex and the Inno. Bare in mind, this was a Black douglas recurve shape way back till 1997 or something!
The Shape of that limb was an evolutionary development done here, not sure how W&W came to the same conclusions on shape and profile.
The Stiffening effect on this limb is XP10 Carbon. Its the magic in the beans that W&W claim to have copyrighted with the advent of the Inno, The Biased 45 degree double angled carbon,
atented Win Technology#391535, according to their early adverts. (unless the patent has more intelectual properties that we can find) We have challenged this as the 45deg carbon has been on the market for over 10 years in our limbs!
We stepped away from our own recurve shape with the Hex4 and the Hex5 in an attempt to increase stored energy, increase smoothness of draw and lower noise. The limb mass reduction of the TX40 and now the CXC laminates helps release this stored energy even further. The ML2 is powered by Bow Glass, and not carbon.
The great thing about the hex4 and 5 is that it came from the hex1,2, and 3.
We have been working on a 6, but its a little time away as we are waiting on a W&W patented HEX4 Inno before we need to launch another bold step!
