Suppression mounts, a new fad...???

Maybe I've been rather unobservant but I'm sure that I have seen more bows with doinker's suppression mount in the last two months than I have, well... ever.

Now I know that the idea for these is that they help dampen excess vibration (and can be used as an extender), but I was wondering if they are worth it or is this just a fad that will come and go as so many do in our sport??
