As Windknot says I tend to use gapstinctive, not a conscious gap calculation but have a knack of knowing where to position the arrow tip to get it where I want (I suppose that makes it instinctive, however it's not a case of the arrow just being in my vision).

I shoot a number of different bows, some more than others, so tend to use arrow tip as the reference and then work out where to place it based on experience of bows of a similar power.
