And do you glue the feathers straight or with spin?
I did try tapering the last few of an old set myself, if you search on here you will find advice and tips on doing this. This was a bit rough, but it did convince me it gave better sight marks. I now get my tapered shafts from Hi Force Arrows. Again, you should be able to find a link to them on the forum, if not then I'll post it in this thread. Highly recommended.

At the moment all my feathers are straight (as far as the materials and my skills allow!). I did have an indoor set for my lighter bow with 5" helical feathers on 11/32" POC shafts. They did really well for me. With my heavier Bickerstaffes I have tried a helical fletch indoors, but have had best results with 11/32" pine shafts, spined at 53#, with 160 grain piles and big 5" fletchings.
