Hi Ian,
I know what you mean, but the club as it is run at the moment seems to be not geared up towards getting people to shoot any decent distance or with any degree of competitiveness.
When we are up the club at most there are three bosses up and the only people who shoot at anything past 30yds are me, you James, Dave and Mick.
I like the way Hertford do things whereby they shoot a set round each week with scoring and there still seems to be a relaxed fun atmosphere.
Just look at our beginners course, it bored me senseless and I love archery the problem seems to be the committee, who do there jobs but who themselves are not competitive and so don't seem to want to drive others to be
I know I should join the committee myself and try to help change things but it seems to me there are are not enough archers dedicated to the cause to make it worth any of our whiles.
Sorry rant over, we should try and round up the archers that care and hold a meeting with the committee and talk things through. I find it very sad that that things are this way in a club that used to do so well.
Alex
