Thats all you really ask from them ( Oh I forgot the magazine,so do they it seems)and they cannot even get that simple task right.
At least with the RAC you get your membership card BEFORE its due for renewal.
Maybe we should let them run GNAS !! |
Once members have a full membership number, that is what happens now, the labels are sent to the clubs before the renewal date. This was only changed in the fairly recent past, prior to that, even the renewal labels took forever.
Part of the problem is the route the membership details take to get from the archer to
GNAS.
The club fills out a multipart form and sends it with a cheque to the county. The county keep one part, write out a cheque for the original amount less the county fees and sends it to the region who carry out exactly the same process and send it on to
GNAS. This in itself adds weeks to the process. This is supposed to reduce the number of errors on the forms when they get to
GNAS as they have been checked 3 times. You will also notice that the form doesn't have address details, so those have to be sent by the club directly to
GNAS so that the archers can get Archery UK.
I believe this will all have to be changed soon, as the current paperwork doesn't allow for analysis of ethnic origin or any disability information as required by the equity legislation.
This should have all been done by the new membership system which has now been scrapped because it wasn't up to the required specification.
