The competition referred to by Miss Purple is actually a recognised single round, a sort of western round indoors shot at over 2 distances. However, referring to your question about entering two competitions on a single day...

If you are shooting the same round with the same style then no sighters are permitted. Also your score for the first shoot will only be taken into account for the awards at the end of the day.

If you are shooting the same round but with a different style, ie changing bows from recurve to compound, then you are allowed a second set of sighters at the beginning of the next round.

In my experience, you will probably not come across this situation outdoors, as most competitions offer only 1 round per day except for events such as the Wiltshire Chamionship Weekend in Devizes where a clout and a 2 way longbow round are shot on the same day. With the drastic difference between rounds, sighters are an essential part of safety!
