The dress code deterred a very promising junior (who's just defected to Savile
) from entering competitions. She doesn't like green and felt dressing in white would make her look like a chav. The dress code is just a nuisance:
- there's no safety reason for it
- the colours are hard to get hold of, so people have to use workwear, action pants etc that DON'T look smart
- juniors are put off by it
