I am left eye dominant, and shoot right handed. I tried left handed, but felt much more comfortable the other way round. I shoot with both eyes open, sometimes just blinking the left eye shut momentarily to check string alignment.

As I tend to be somewhat ambidextrous (throw, bowl l.h. write, bat r.h.) then maybe I am not so heavily left eye dominant as you. I have found that I can actually switch to shooting left handed with no major problem (as we discovered last Monday at our Fun Shoot!).

I would advise trying left handed first - if you decide it really doesn't feel comfortable, then use a translucent eye patch on the left eye.
