| Most people will sight on something, but not necessarily with a sight. I have seen and heard of specialised gadgets for sighting on the flag, bit's attached to the riser or longrod, generally. But most of us 'casual clouters' look for something in the environment we can use as a reference.
For example, last time I shot clout I found I could get near the flag by alligning the second knuckle on my bow hand with the ridge of the roof of the palace servants quarters... Unfortunately there wasn't an equally convenient horizontal reference.
I did once know a guy who could aim at (or near) the flag with a recurve. But he was holding 50#+ and shooting ACEs too... |
